What is Laser Therapy?
These specific lasers are designed to deliver specific red and near-infrared wavelengths of laser light to induce a therapeutic and healing effect within the body. These effects include: increased circulation, decreased swelling, reduction of pain and enhanced tissue repair.
During your pet’s treatment the laser light interacts with tissues at the cellular level. Increased metabolic activity within the cell stimulates the transport of nutrients across the cell membrane initiating increaed production of cellular energy called ATP. This lease to the acceleration of the healing process in the body and reduced pain.

What to expect during a Laser Therapy treatment session:
There is no need for sedation for these sessions. It is preferable that your pet be as comfortable as possible during the treatment. Generally the experience is pleasant and comforting to them. The K-laser therapy treatments are cumulative in nature. The length and frequency of the treatments will vary with each pet’s individual condition. Generally patients require several treatments for the greatest benefit and we recommend a multi-visit treatment plan. Most conditions require 6 initial treatments varying in time from 2-8 minutes per treatment. Then once the initial series of treatments is complete, booster treatments are done as needed. This can be as often as every 2-3 weeks or even longer in between treatment sessions.
